Today’s topic is my favorite tips and tricks on how to look chic in a conservative workplace this year. If your dress code is a strict one, then you probably have to always look professional and polished. It does look great and you always are taken seriously at work. Well, there is one little problem. I don’t know how about you, but sometimes it seems so hard for me to look classic and conservative. I just want to look a bit chicer. Well, if you do work in the same conservative place as me, then you probably know that mini skirts, mini dresses, strapless tops, sleeveless blouses, plunging necklines are NO-NO! Anyway, there are some tricks to make your outfit look chic. If you do want to know how it can be done, then you are more than welcome to see this collection of street style images and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
First of all, I wanted to mention the length and cut of your clothes. Keep the skirt or dress length no shorter than just above the knee, while sleeveless tops, blouses, and dresses are allowed to be worn if you will cover them with layered pieces, like blazers, kimonos, cardigans, jackets, etc. I love to see ladies who appear in dressy jumpsuits completed with fitted blazers. If the print or pattern of the blazer doesn’t look too busy, flashy or bright, then you are allowed to use it during working hours, but still, some dress codes do not allow us to wear prints to work. I know many ladies who mix up colors and fabrics creating individual looks, all you need is to keep them look formal and constructed. You can try on creative accessories completed with beautiful details and colors. For instance, try on silk or chiffon scarf, leather belt in contrasting color. Think of wearing clothes made of wool, cotton, linen, silk, etc. Speaking of conservative work outfits, then you should remember one very crucial thing: less is more. Speaking of skirts, then you should keep an eye on modern silhouettes. Try on high-waist full skirts, peplum pencil styles, tailored mid-calf versions. Sometimes it’s okay to wear skirts completed in prints but stick to classic geometric patterns, like checks, stripes, plaids, polka dots, tartan and avoid abstract and florals. Conservative dresses are must-haves. All you need is to skip form-hugging frocks, the ones with cut-outs, daring necklines, etc. If you do want to try on revealing design, then you should layer it with a blazer to keep it work appropriate. Remember about accessories. They will easily spice up your outfit. Go for sunglasses, belts, classic shoes, structured bags, etc. If you want to freshen up your conservative look, then I recommend using the art of layering. Go for beautiful blazers, coats, and cardigans. Don’t be afraid of wearing monochromatic outfits, as they will always make you look taller and slim. By the way, conservative fashion is timeless. These beautiful pieces are ideal for those ladies who want to look elegant and classy.
